FreeStyle USA is a manufacturer of sport wrist watches for men and women. Their notoriety came about for their excellence in one sport in particular, surfing.

 

Their Viper model was their most popular surf watch. Shane Dorian, a well known, big wave professional surfer, has been sponsored by FreeStyle USA for many years and was known for wearing the latest Viper wrist watch exclusively.

 

The Viper surf watch was extremely popular among surfers and any launch of an updated version of the Viper was anticipated by FreeStyle's customers. Their customer base knew the watch shape as it's shape was a distinct as its functions.

 

Marcus used this to FreeStyle's advantage in this ad design. FreeStyle wanted to promote their new Viper early in the season. However, the final design of the face and bezel was not yet decided upon by the protion date.

 

This layout and headline provided an excellent way to generate interest in the new Viper and promote its upcoming launch in their marketing material before production was finalized.
